triple point
The intersection of the incident, reflected, and fused (or Mach) shock fronts accompanying an air burst. The height of the triple point above the surface, i.e., the height of the Mach stem, increases with increasing distance from a given explosion.

Triple Point
The intersection point between two boundaries (dry line, outflow boundary, cold front, etc.), often a focus for thunderstorm development. Triple point also may refer to a point on the gust front of a supercell, where the warm moist inflow, the rain-cooled outflow from the forward flank downdraft, and the rear flank downdraft all intersect; this point is a favored location for tornado development (or redevelopment).

Triple Point
The temperature and pressure at which solid, liquid, and gas phases of a given substance are all present simultaneously in varying amounts.
The temperature and pressure at which solid, liquid, and gas phases of a given substance are all present simultaneously in varying amounts.
Triple Point (Water)
The thermodynamic state where all three phases, solid, liquid, and gas may all be present in equilibrium. The triple point of water is .01°C.

TRIPLE POINT
The condition of temperature and pressure under which the gaseous, liquid, and solid phases of a substance can exist in equilibrium. For water, at a standard pressure of one (1) atmosphere, this represents a temperature of 273.16 Kelvin (K), 0.01C (Celsius), and 32.02F Fahrenheit. Also see Temperature Scale, Celsius (Temperature Scale), Centigrade (Temperature Scale), and Fahrenheit (Temperature Scale).

Triple point
In physics and chemistry, the triple point of a substance is the temperature and pressure at which three phases (gas, liquid, and solid) of that substance may coexist in thermodynamic equilibrium.
For example, the triple point temperature of mercury is at −38.8344 °C, at a pressure of 0.2 mPa.
