Sigel

Das Sigel (seltener die Sigle), Pl. Sigel oder Siglen, ist ein Kunstwort (vom lateinischen singulae litterae, einzelne Buchstaben), das die Abkürzung von einem oder mehreren Wörtern durch Buchstaben oder Buchstaben-Ziffern-Kombinationen bezeichnet. Es gibt auch die neulateinische Form siglum (Plural sigla).

Sol (Mythologie)

Sól ist in der nordischen Mythologie die personifizierte Sonne , ohne dass man sie als Sonnengottheit ansah. Sie wird den Asen zugerechnet.

Der altnordische Name Sól bedeutet "Sonne", genau wie das althochdeutsche und altsächsische Sunna. Eine Personifizierung der Sonne namens Sunna wird im zweiten Merseburger Zauberspruch erwähnt.

Sól ist die Tochter des Mundilfari (Mundilfei), Schwester des Mondgottes Mani und Gattin des Glenr.
