POPULATION DENSITY
(1) The number per unit area of individuals of any given species at a given time. (2) (Water Planning) The number of people in a given area. The number may be obtained by multiplying the number of dwelling units per unit area (e.g., square mile, square kilometer, acre, etc.) by the number of residents per dwelling unit.
