Police officer
A police officer (or policeman/policewoman) is a warranted worker of a police force. The responsibilities of a police officer are to maintain public order, prevent and detect crime and apprehend offenders, using force when necessary.
As well as general policing, officers can be trained in special duties such as counter-terrorism; surveillance; child protection; royalty or diplomatic protection; and investigating major crime such as fraud, rape, murder, and people or drugs trafficking.
