Flag of United States
Background
Britain's American colonies broke with the mother country in 1776 and were recognized as the new nation of the United States of America following the Treaty of Paris in 1783. During the 19th and 20th centuries, 37 new states were added to the original 13 as the nation expanded across the North American continent and acquired a number of overseas possessions. The two most traumatic experiences in the nation's history were the Civil War (1861-65) and the Great Depression of the 1930s. Buoyed by victories in World Wars I and II and the end of the Cold War in 1991, the US remains the world's most powerful nation state. The economy is marked by steady growth, low unemployment and inflation, and rapid advances in technology.

Holds an extraordinary amount of caps for the US although this should be no testimony to his skill, more his being over picked during the late 80's/early 1990's. Currently playing for Los Angeles Galaxy Jones is well suited to American football as he has proved useless for any other team he has played for such as Coventry City and Vasco de Gama. Cobi will no doubt display his headless chicken act which will enliven any game he plays in. Watch Cobi expend copious amounts of energy in his ceaseless quest to win a throw in at the corner flag.

Max Moore is a product of the Sampson school of team tinkering i.e. a forward now converted to an attacking midfielder. This has not gone down to well with Moore who has had words with the coach about being played out of position. This has fallen on deaf ears as the coach will no doubt continue playing him in midfield rather than in his natural forwarding position. This is madness as Moore is an exceptionally good finisher who benefits from the midfield through ball and quick sharp passes. Was one of the best players in 1999 FIFA Confederations Cup, in such Cup, he scored a superb free-kick goal to the German National Team.

Nonetheless, Quidditch has been gaining popularity and the Finches have emerged as a top team, winning the US League seven times.
