Spondyloarthropathies are a group of related inflammatory joint disease associated with the MHC class I molecule HLA-B27. The term seronegative spondylarthropathy is also used by medical practitioners and similarly refers to the conditions below, where serological (blood) tests are typically negative for rheumatoid factor (RhF), a non-specific indicator of other rheumatological disease (in particular rheumatoid arthritis).
