Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China
A Special Administrative Region is an administrative division of the People's Republic of China. Each SAR has a Chief Executive as head of the region and head of government. However each region's government is not fully internationally accredited, inasmuch as foreign policy and home defense are retained as the province of the motherland and central government.
