Selected Reserve
In the United States Army Reserve, the Selected Reserve (SR) is the the component of the Army Reserve most readily available for callup to Active Duty, out of Selected Reserve, Individual Ready Reserve, and Retired Reserve, under Presidential Reserve Callup Authority. The Selected Reserve is comprised of Troop Program Units (TPUs), Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) Soldiers and Individual Mobilization Augmentees (IMAs). Selected Reserve soldiers are required to participate in military drills one weekend each month, for which they receive Drill Pay, and two weeks of military training each year, for which they receive pay equivalent to Active Component Soldiers. In the event of an emergency, all members of the Selected Reserve and up to 30,000 members of the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) can be mobilized.
