National Solidarity Party (Singapore)
The National Solidarity Party (Chinese: 国民团结党) is a centrist party in Singapore. Formed in 1987 by a group of middle-class businessmen and women, it has contested the elections since 1988 and has not yet won a seat. Its previous leader was Tan Chee Kien, before being currently led by its President Yip Yew Weng and Secretary General Steve Chia, who was a member of the Parliament of Singapore as a Non-Constituency Member of Parliament. He was the most successful opposition candidate who did not win a seat in the Singapore general election, 2001.
