Metal Nitride Oxide Semiconductor - the interface between the silicon dioxide and silicon nitride layers may is used to trap charge creating a type of non-volatile memory. The gate of the device is biased during inject or remove electrons into the oxide - nitride interface from the underlying substrate. Commonly used to make EEPROMs.

MNOS
MNOS (meaning "MobilNaya Operatsionnaya Sistema" (МобильНая Операционная Система, МНОС), or "Portable Operating System") was a Unix-like operating system developed in the Soviet Union. It was derived from Unix Version 6 and consequently heavily modified to incorporate many features of BSD Unix. From 1983 until 1986 it enjoyed significant popularity in the USSR and other Eastern Bloc countries, due to its light weight and better performance than that of Unix Version 7 (and later BSD Unix-based) alternatives.

μnOS is an old Unix-like real time operating system based on Motorola 68k CPUs. It was used on Charles River's data systems for real time data acquiring and processing.
