Jackpot
No one knows for sure what's the origin of the word jackpot. here are 3 speculations:

1. when winning the Vegas-slot-machines the coins used to fall into a golden pot (which was owned by the first casino owner EVER, Jack).

2. a long time ago, there used to be a bartender called Jack. when getting a generous tip, he GONGed on a silver pot.

3. the most improbable of them all, says the word comes from a version of draw poker where a pair of jacks or better are needed to open the "pot" to start betting.
