Definition of Improvement and development agency

The Improvement and Development Agency for local government (I&DeA or IDeA for short) was formed in 1998. It sits under the Local Government Association (LGA), and is funded by a mix of 'top-sliced' Revenue Support Grant (RSG) from the LGA, grant funding from government departments, and fee income from chargeable services.
