Definition of Higher colleges of technology

The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) was established in 1988, and is now the largest institution of higher learning in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with over 16,500 students. During the 2005 - 2006 academic year there were 9897 female and 6641 male students enrolled at 14 campuses throughout the country. More than 19,000 UAE nationals are graduates of the instititution.
