Wikipedia English - The Free Encyclopedia
Daphne laureola
Daphne laureola, or Spurge-laurel, is a species of Daphne in the flowering plant family Thymelaeaceae. Despite the name though, this woodland plant is neither a spurge nor a laurel. It is one of the two species of Daphne native to Britain - the other being Daphne mezereum. However, unlike Mezereon, it is evergreen. The black berries are poisonous to humans, but birds can eat them without harm.
