Air Carrier
An air carrier holding a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity issued by the Department of Transportation to conduct scheduled services over specified routes and a limited amount of nonscheduled operations. (FAA13)
As defined in the Federal Aviation Act of 1958, any citizen of the United States who undertakes, whether directly or indirectly, or by lease or any other arrangement, to engage in air transportation. (FAA1)
Commercial system of air transportation consisting of certificated air carriers, air taxis (including commuters), supplemental air carriers, commercial operators of large aircraft, and air travel clubs. (DOE6) (FAA6)
Commercial system of air transportation, consisting of domestic and international scheduled and charter service. (AIA1)
