Definition of Afghan national army

Afghan National Army (ANA) is a service branch of the Military of Afghanistan that is currently being trained by the coalition forces to ultimately take the lead in land-based military operations. The Army of Afghanistan existed since at least 1880s when the nation was ruled by Emir Abdur Rahman Khan.
