Affect (psychology)
Affect refers to "the experience of feeling or emotion". Affect display is "a facial, vocal, or gestural behavior that serves as an indicator of affect." (APA 2006) Affect is a key part of the process of an organism’s response to stimuli. This article discusses theoretical perspectives, history and psychological meanings of the term, as well as distinctions between mood and emotion.
