Founded in 1932, Advance Auto Parts ( NYSE: AAP), headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia, is the second-largest retailer of automotive replacement parts and accessories in the United States. AAP had 2005 sales of approx. $4.62B via more than 3,000 stores and with the work of some 43,000 employees. In 2005, Advance Auto Parts purchased Autopart International, Inc. which operates 87 stores in Northeastern United States.
