Abilene Regional Airport is a public airport located three miles (5 km) southeast of the central business district (CBD) of Abilene, a city in Taylor County, Texas, USA. It is owned and operated by the City of Abilene.
The airport is mostly used for general and military aviation, but is also served by two commercial airlines. American Eagle Airlines and Continental Express Airlines operate daily flights to Dallas-Ft. Worth and Houston, respectively. Allegiant Airlines recently discontinued its twice-weekly flights to Las Vegas in February. American Eagle also operates a maintenance facility here, and it also is the current storage facility for American Eagle's propeller fleet, which it is phasing out and replacing with regional jets.
